Damage unknown: Thieves break into jewelry store

As yet unknown perpetrators broke into a jewelry store in a shopping center in Vellmar (Kassel district) early this morning. According to the police , the burglars first forced open the main entrance door of the shopping center, thereby setting off the store's alarm system. They then smashed the window of a jeweler with a manhole cover.

According to the police, the perpetrators stole some valuable pieces of jewelry and fled in an unknown direction. The extent of the damage and the value of the stolen valuables are currently unknown. The criminal police in Kassel are investigating.
