German exports to the USA collapse

Exports to Russia also fell sharply. In May 2025, they fell by 12.1 percent to EUR 0.5 billion compared to April 2025, adjusted for calendar and season effects. Compared to May 2024, they decreased by 11.1 percent.

Overall, German exports fell by 1.4 percent in May compared to the previous month, adjusted for calendar and seasonally effects. Imports also declined by 3.8 percent. Compared to May 2024, exports increased by 0.4 percent and imports by 4.2 percent.
