Koro founder Calios is leaving the food startup – who is left at the C-level?

The current C-level of Koro, until September (from left to right): Florian Schwenkert, Steffani Busch, Daniel Kundt and Constantinos Calios.
KoRo

With Constantinos Calios, the second namesake of the Berlin food startup KoRo is now also leaving the company.

Calios, known internally as Kosta (hence the "Ko") , founded KoRo together with Robert Schyska (hence the "Ro") in 2012. At the time, it was still an online drugstore selling laundry detergent in giant packs. However, this didn't go down well with customers. The founders switched to cleaning products.

Demand wasn't high enough for that either. The company pivoted to a food startup. Specifically, dried fruits, spices, grains, and superfoods, still in giant packages.

Piran Asci , then a working student and mathematician, played a key role in the strategic shift in 2014. Two years later, in 2016, Asci joined as a co-founder and bought all shares from co-founder Robert Schyska, who now runs his own tea startup.

Asci has also since left the food startup. In mid-2024, he announced his resignation as founder and CEO on LinkedIn . Asci writes that the position was his first real job after university.
