US Attorney General Pam Bondi has announced that she wants to release files on the case of alleged human trafficker and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein . The material could possibly be made public on Thursday, she told Fox News. "What we will hopefully be able to see on Thursday are a lot of flight connections, a lot of names, a lot of information," the minister said.
The files had been released by a court but had been kept under lock and key until now. Recently, pressure from politicians of both parties in Washington had grown to make the material public.
Epstein is said to have recruited young women - some of them minors - for prostitution at his properties in New York and on a Caribbean island. Numerous celebrities and wealthy guests were invited to parties at Epstein's property. Epstein himself was taken into custody and died there in 2019, before a court ruling was made against him.
Among others, the British Prince Andrew, brother of King Charles III, was accused of having contacts with Epstein. One woman said she was forced into intimate relationships with the royal. A settlement was reportedly reached. Regardless, the prince denies any wrongdoing.
