Xiaomi: New smartphone unveiled – how the stock reacts

Xiaomi continues to fire on all cylinders. In addition to the SU7 electric sedan, which is currently breaking all lap records and is also giving German car manufacturers a run for their money, the Chinese company is now attacking Apple with a new top smartphone. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is said to be nothing less than "the pinnacle of photography".
As DER AKTIONÄR reported , things are going well for Xiaomi at the moment – not only is the share price racing from record high to record high, but pre-orders for the SU7 electric car, which costs around 108,000 euros, are also more than impressive.
But that's not all: Xiaomi boss Lei Jun remains tireless in his efforts to undermine the established western companies. The latest product innovation from Xiaomi is now set to be the top smartphone Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The company claims that the device represents "the pinnacle of photography". In fact, the back of the phone features an impressive Leica camera. According to Notebookcheck.com , this should enable a resolution of 200 megapixels. For comparison: Apple's flagship smartphone, the iPhone 16 Pro Max, only has a 48 megapixel main camera.

Xiaomi is expected to announce further details on February 27. The company plans to officially present the new top smartphone on that day. A sales success would be particularly significant, as the area in which smartphone sales are accounted for accounted for around 90 percent of sales revenue in the third quarter. However, the new premium smartphone is unlikely to be cheap: rumors say it could cost around 1,500 euros, putting it in the league of Apple's top smartphones.
On the stock exchange, Xiaomi shares are trading just below their recent record high of the equivalent of 6.45 euros. Since the beginning of the year, the share price has increased by around 50 percent. Rival Apple, on the other hand, has lost around two and a half percent since the beginning of 2025.
Xiaomi continues its attack on the West. While the Chinese are clearly focusing on innovation, Apple is slowly having to hurry up to present "the next big thing". In the past, however, the US company has always succeeded in doing this. It is not without reason that Apple is currently the most valuable company in the world. DER AKTIONÄR therefore remains bullish on Xiaomi and is also confident about Apple in the long term.
