The restructuring of the German energy supply continues to progress.

The industry expects the global expansion of solar energy to continue this year. Despite its comparatively small area, Germany is currently among the international leaders, as the German Solar Industry Association announced before the start of the Intersolar trade fair in Munich. According to this forecast, the addition of new solar systems worldwide could exceed the 600 gigawatt threshold—roughly double the capacity of 2022.
In terms of total installed capacity, Germany ranked fourth last year, with just over 100 gigawatts, behind three much larger countries: China, the USA, and India. According to estimates by the German Solar Association, installed solar power capacity in Germany increased by a substantial 14 percent, or 17.5 gigawatts, last year. The German Solar Association plans to publish a detailed assessment this morning.
