Iberia: Dynamic boarding pass in real time
The Spanish airline Iberia is taking digital usability a step further. The dynamic boarding pass automatically displays last-minute operational changes to passengers.
Until now, passengers who received their boarding pass at the counter or via the app received a static version that didn't reflect changes. However, thanks to digitalization, Iberia is now taking advantage of a way to keep passengers always up to date.
The boarding pass updates automatically when there are seat or gate changes, for example, or cabin upgrades. Customers also receive a push notification with the updated information on their mobile device. This means customers don't have to constantly check for changes to their departure details. At the same time, Iberia hopes this innovation will speed up boarding.
The new feature is available to users of the Iberia app (iOS and Android) and to anyone who downloads their boarding pass from the website to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
