Couple dies after brutal crash with van in Gómez Palacio

A traffic accident occurred Thursday night on Jabonoso Boulevard, near the El Amigo neighborhood in the city of Gómez Palacio. Two people riding a motorcycle died when they collided with a pickup truck that had allegedly cut them off. The victims, a young man and woman, have not yet been identified.
The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m., when the deceased were traveling north to south on the road, riding a red and black Veloci motorcycle.
Upon reaching the intersection with Veintidó Street, a white Peugeot Partner SUV allegedly recklessly entered the vehicle's lane, causing a head-on collision with the vehicle's right side.
After the crash, both motorcycle occupants were thrown from the vehicle and fell violently to the pavement. When emergency personnel arrived, it was confirmed that neither showed any vital signs.
The deceased woman was described as approximately 20 years old, with a slim build, light brown complexion, short stature, and long black hair. She was wearing a white and black blouse, black jeans, and black sandals. A distinguishing feature was a tattoo of two roses on her right forearm.
The man, meanwhile, appeared to be about 25 years old, of medium build and tall height, with light brown skin and short black hair. He was wearing a gray polo shirt with white polka dots, blue jeans, and brown work boots. Like the young woman, he had rose tattoos on his forearm and right arm.
Both bodies had multiple injuries, consistent with severe multiple trauma, compatible with the type of impact suffered.
The driver of the truck involved was identified as José Alfredo, 31 years old.
After the accident, he was arrested by Public Security officers and placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office for probable responsibility in the accident.
Agents from the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety, experts from the State Attorney General's Office, and the Forensic Medical Service responded to the scene to conduct the necessary investigations. The bodies were taken to the Semefo facilities as unidentified, pending the request for family members to come and claim them.
The ministerial authority has initiated an investigation to determine the precise nature of the events and determine legal responsibility.
