Hecher Sosa conquers Dana White: he overpowers Mackson Lee and signs with the UFC after losing his father two days earlier.

Canarian Hecher Sosa has just become a UFC fighter , enlisting in the Spanish Navy within the largest mixed martial arts (MMA) organization in the world. The Guanche Warrior, as he is nicknamed, won convincingly in the main event of the sixth episode of Dana White's Contender Series against Brazilian Mackson Lee, obtaining a unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27 and 30-26).

Hecher Sosa has made history by becoming the first national fighter to enter the UFC through the television format hosted by Dana White. What's more, he did so after learning of the death of his father, who was terminally ill, just two days before stepping into the Octagon at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. A true lesson in how to face adversity.

This was acknowledged by Dana White at the conclusion of the fight, who personally approached him to congratulate the Canary Islander, expressing his admiration for how he had carried on through such a difficult time. "I greatly respect your strength, your resilience. After everything you've been through in your life, I'm going to give you the opportunity to fulfill your promises to your family. Congratulations," the boss said, announcing the signing of the UFC.

Already in a one-on-one conversation with the Lanzarote fighter, Dana White took the opportunity to continue his message: "Life can be very hard and ugly, but to overcome the situation the way you did, to come here tonight and win, I'm happy and content. I wish you all the best in the UFC." Moments later, the Lanzarote native hugged his team, captained by Mario Alonso, and the rest of his friends and family who accompanied him in Las Vegas.

In the fight, Hecher Sosa dominated from the start. After throwing some good combinations, he looked to wrestle and landed a takedown, where he continued to land elbows. However, the Brazilian found an opening and attacked the neck, attempting a guillotine finish. Nothing and no one was going to stop the Canary Islander tonight .

In summary, Hecher Sosa managed to land the best punches, suffocate the undefeated Brazilian with pressure, take down, control, and even come close to finishing Mackson Lee with several submission attempts in the final round. The Guanche Warrior put together a perfect fight, giving his all inside the Octagon and displaying a proactive attitude throughout the fight. This has helped him win over Dana White, who has given him the opportunity to continue developing his professional career within the Olympus of MMA.

Hecher Sosa looks to the sky after achieving victory DWCS

In the post-fight press conference, Hecher Sosa was deeply moved by the victory, recalling how he said goodbye to his father before leaving to fulfill his dream in Las Vegas. "Before coming here, I knew I'd probably never speak to my father again, and before coming, I said goodbye to him. I still had a lot of things left to say, but today I represented him in the best way possible, just as he taught me; he always told me, 'Always strong, always together,'" he noted.

With this signing, the Canary Islander becomes the fifth member of the Spanish Armada within the UFC. He joins Ilia and Aleksandre Topuria, Valencian Dani Bárez, and Asturian Joel Álvarez. Now it's time to rest and gather his thoughts, but sooner rather than later we'll see Hecher Sosa making his debut in the UFC Octagon.
