Princess Kate, royal and luxury godmother for an exhibition

Princess Kate created a "mini-exhibition" opened yesterday by the prestigious Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum in London , of which she is godmother representing the British royal family.
This is a personal selection of objects from the museum's collections, chosen during a visit last month to the V&A's new headquarters, which opened this spring in the east of the capital.

"Objects can tell a story. A collection of objects can create a narrative, both about our past and as a source of inspiration for the future ," Kate wrote in a message accompanying the exhibition.
Selected pieces include a Qing Dynasty porcelain vase made between 1662 and 1722; a costume by Oliver Messel designed for the royal ballet Sleeping Beauty performed in 1960; and a watercolor of a forest landscape by children's author Beatrix Potter.
This mini-exhibition pays tribute to the creators of the past and illustrates "how historical objects can influence fashion, design, film, art, and creativity today," the V&A said in a statement.
To find out, visitors will have to use the museum's new on-demand access system.
This completely free service allows anyone to select objects from the V&A 's online catalogue and then arrange an appointment to view them in person, accompanied by a member of staff.
Approximately one-fifth of the museum's total collection is accessible in this four-story building, called the V&A East Storehouse , located on the site of the former Olympic Park for the London 2012 Games.
The objects selected by Princess Kate will be on display until early 2026.
