Protests in Anzures after attack on residents

Residents of the Anzures neighborhood , in the Miguel Hidalgo municipality , protested on the night of Tuesday, February 25, following attacks suffered by residents of the area by an unidentified individual , who was detained by elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security ; this was because, they accused, despite the multiple evidence the aggressor would be released .

Last Sunday, a neighbor identified as " Winnie" , who suffers from a disability , was attacked with a piece of cement while he was sitting outside a store in the area.

Through neighborhood chats and video cameras, the attacker was identified by the neighbors themselves and arrested by the corresponding authorities.

The neighbors pointed out that the local Public Prosecutor's Office is about to release the aggressor, so they decided to demonstrate on Avenida Thiers at its intersection with Gutenberg .

"We found ourselves with a very unjustified cause, they are releasing a presumed culprit, the case has already been identified in the MP... it was an attempted murder, the blow to the neck was made, and with all the witnesses, videos, evidence, they are going to release him," said Antonio Domínguez , one of the neighbors.

Protesters say the man is a " psychopath " who has carried out at least four attacks of various kinds in the area.

“He was arrested in flagrante delicto, the attacks consisted of throwing a stone in the back, that is how he attacks, it is his modus operandi, with bricks, pieces of cement,” said the neighbor while residents of the Anzures neighborhood chanted “do not release him!”
