The death toll in Gaza among those awaiting humanitarian aid distribution has risen to 66. What's new?

The Israeli army killed at least 60 Gazans and wounded around 150 on Sunday after opening fire on a group of people waiting for the arrival of trucks carrying flour in the northern city of Beit Lahia , while six more Gazans were killed in Rafah (south) near one of the distribution points for aid backed by the United States, medical sources confirmed to Efe.
The bodies of 37 Palestinians arrived at al-Shifa Hospital in the Gaza capital after Israeli soldiers opened fire near the Zikim military checkpoint, a source at the medical center confirmed. Another 19 bodies arrived at the Sheikh Radwan Clinic. Witnesses told EFE that the bodies of around 50 people are still lying in the street in Beit Lahia.

Shortly after, two more bodies arrived at the Al Saraya Field Hospital in Gaza City, Palestinian Red Crescent spokesperson Nebal Farkash confirmed to Efe. The hospital was forced to create new beds after being overwhelmed by some 120 injured people, some of them seriously, the spokesperson added. Finally, two more bodies remain in the morgue at Baptist Al Alhi Hospital, according to a medical source.
This morning, thousands of Palestinians approached this checkpoint in Beit Lahia after learning that trucks carrying flour were arriving there. When they did, at least five were looted, according to witnesses.
In southern Gaza, in the Saudi neighborhood of Rafah, at least six Palestinians were shot dead near a distribution point run by the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), according to a source at the Nasser Hospital morgue.
Lethal incidents like this are repeated daily, as the US-backed organization distributes food on a very limited basis in militarized compounds, with Israeli troops stationed just two kilometers away and, as a recent Haaretz investigation revealed, given the green light to fire toward Palestinians to disperse the crowds.

Yesterday, at least 32 Palestinians were killed in a similar incident, according to the Gazan health ministry. The Israeli army confirmed opening fire and firing "warning bullets" at the group, according to a military statement.
More than 900 people have died in Gaza while trying to obtain food, most of them in the vicinity of GHF sites, according to UN data on the private organization run by the United States and Israel to impede traditional UN-led humanitarian operations.

The Israeli army said Sunday that its troops "fired warning shots" at thousands of Palestinians awaiting the arrival of aid trucks in northern Gaza.
"Today (Sunday), a gathering of thousands of Gazans was identified in the northern Gaza Strip. IDF troops in the area fired warning shots to eliminate an immediate threat posed to them," a military statement said regarding the mass shooting near the Zikim military post in northern Beit Lahia.
