The Spanish Government asks France for commitment to reopen Canfranc

The works to renew the line between Huesca and Canfranc are “coming to an end” and it is expected to be back in service this summer.
The Secretary of State for Transport and Sustainable Mobility, José Antonio Santano, has urged France to confirm its commitment to advance cross-border rail connections . He did so from Canfranc, within the framework of a meeting organised by the European Parliament's Transport and Tourism Committee under the title 'Aragon in the context of European Cross-border Transport Infrastructures' . Following the investment that the central government is making in the renewal of the railway line between Huesca and Canfranc, and Zaragoza Sagunto , and the involvement of the Government of Aragon and that of New Aquitaine, he considers that "it is essential that France confirms its commitment to this international connection, because without this commitment we will be left aside, something that makes no sense and does not meet the objectives that we Europeans have".
