When unemployment benefits are paid in August: the date at Caixabank, ING, Santander, BBVA, and other banks
September started with bad news for Spain regarding employment : this past August, the Social Security system lost an average of 199,300 jobs . Although this is traditionally a negative time for employment due to the end of temporary summer contracts , the data has placed this end of the season as the worst in the last six years .
Unemployment has also increased compared to July (+0.9%), with 21,905 more people , leaving the total number of people registered with the State Public Employment Service at 2,426,511 , according to data published this Tuesday, September 2, by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.
All of them will be waiting for the payment of their corresponding benefits in the next few days to cover the expenses of the month of September .
As a general rule , unemployment benefits are collected on the 10th of each month or, if it's a holiday, the following business day. Unemployment benefits are paid in installments every 30 days, as established by current regulations, within the month immediately following the month in which they are due.
As specified by the Ministry of Labor, unemployment benefits are collected between the 10th and 15th of each month. However, some banks usually already have the information on those eligible for benefits and can advance the amount .
