This condition prevented the citizen from remembering any type of information or event prior to the incident, so he had no idea that he was starting a relationship with Rebecca , a woman he had been dating for several months.
According to local media reports, Mark found out he had a girlfriend when his partner sent him a text message accusing him of "ignoring" her and demanding an explanation for his absence.
“Well, if you don’t want to talk to me anymore, you could have just told me,” were some of the words the man received, who, filled with curiosity, reviewed the entire conversation and realized that he was in love with this person.
After the snake catcher left the hospital, he contacted the woman to tell her everything that had happened to his memory and the reason why he had disappeared for weeks without any sign of life.

According to Mark, when he reunited with Rebecca, he had to explain to her that he had no memories of her in his head, even though the messages on her cell phone were proof of the love he felt before the accident.
"I know from my diary entries that I'm in love with you, but I look at you and I can't tell you anything about us," the Australian stated. After his remarks, the woman decided to stay, hoping they could meet again.

For her part, Rebecca commented that she didn't hear about the incident because she doesn't read much news, so she just thought her boyfriend had lost interest, since the relationship was still in its infancy.
Despite the poisonous snakebite robbing them of their earliest memories, Mark and his girlfriend spent months creating new ones and ultimately decided to marry in June 2025.
