Two drunk drivers were arrested Sunday night in San Martín and Maipú (Mendoza) , respectively. Both were driving their trucks with more than four times the legal blood alcohol level , which led to their arrest .

According to police sources , the first incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. yesterday, Sunday, July 13 , on the south side of Route 7 and Lavalle, San Martín . A couple of hours later, in Maipú , an unusual accident led to the identification of the second drunk driver of the night.

Gentleness

A man, identified by the initials AM (44) , was detained during a routine check in San Martín last night. At the time of his alcohol test , the result showed that the driver was driving his vehicle at 2.08 g/L (more than four times the 0.5 g/L permitted by law in Mendoza ).

Meanwhile, when the officers asked him for the required driving documentation , they also found he did not have a driver's license, vehicle registration, or the appropriate insurance . For all these reasons, the driver was arrested .

At 11:25 p.m. , also last night and in the 25 de Mayo neighborhood (Maipú), a 39-year-old man (identified by the initials SS ) fell into a ditch with his Chevrolet truck .

When the police arrived at the scene to assist the driver and verify the (minor) accident , they suspected he might have had too much alcohol . When they performed a breathalyzer test —along with traffic officers—they found the man had a blood alcohol level of 2.10 g/L .

Consequently, he was also arrested by the authorities.
