La Muela (Zaragoza) closes its budget liquidation with zero debt

The La Muela City Council has approved the Liquidation of the General Budget for the year 2024, with a positive balance.
According to the data provided by the council, the Net Recognised Rights (income) have reached 17,359,433.40 euros, while the net recognised obligations (expenses) have amounted to 10,587,202.63 euros. These figures show a positive budgetary result of 6,772,230.77 euros, and an adjusted budgetary result of 6,384,946.67 euros .
The treasury surplus for general expenses amounts to 16,192,448.30 euros, keeping the debt at zero euros . In addition, the data reflect that the municipal debt of 18,804,300.02 euros of the council in 2015, the year in which Adrián Tello (CHA) took office, has been fully paid.
The Audit Report resulting from the Liquidation of the General Budget of the La Muela City Council in the year 2024 reflects a positive balance of 21,220,947.56 euros in the municipal bank accounts and coffers .
Looking ahead to 2025, in February the credit surpluses from the 2024 financial year were incorporated, allocating a total of 2,141,560.99 euros to investments and improvements in the town . The council has also prepared the budgetary modifications that will be presented at the plenary session for approval, with the treasury surplus as financial support.
Also noteworthy is the reduction in the Real Estate Tax (IBI) following the Modification of Tax Ordinance Number 5 in the years 2020 and 2024. These reductions will mean a decrease of 873,598.87 euros in municipal revenue in 2025.
