Last Friday, June 13, thousands of doctors went on strike to protest the draft Framework Statute proposed by the Ministry of Health, demanding their own regulations.
However, they are not the only healthcare workers with complaints. This Thursday, nurses and physiotherapists will gather to protest the cuts to their bonuses , as they claim they have suffered a loss of approximately 11,000 euros since 2010 .
Called by the Nursing Union (SATSE), professionals will gather starting at 11:00 a.m. at healthcare centers and hospitals in various Spanish provinces to denounce the fact that this June they have suffered another 27% cut in their bonus payments . "Each paycheck, and this is the 30th cut, is €321 less if you have worked for three years, and more than €366 if you have worked for 15 years," they state. They also accuse Prime Ministers José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, Mariano Rajoy, and Pedro Sánchez of being "pay-grubbers."
Under the slogan "Don't let them eat a single euro of our bonus," they have a clear objective: to increase pressure on the Sánchez administration to ensure that the full recovery of the bonus payments is included in the next General State Budget Law.

The union points out that the grievance is "exacerbated" at a time "particularly outrageous due to new cases of corruption , waste, and mismanagement of public resources."
The situation began in 2010 when Zapatero, then Prime Minister, announced a cut in public employees' salaries. The measure was coupled with a wage freeze in 2011 (which, in the case of the healthcare workers protesting this Thursday, has been extended to this day), and Zapatero proposed in Congress "serious additional cuts to tackle the deficit ."
