Pablo Blanco asserted that the rejection of the disability ban reflects the government's lack of empathy.

In an exclusive interview with "El Intransigente," Senator Pablo Blanco (UCR) emphasized that the recent rejection of the presidential veto on the disability emergency marks a historic event. "It's a very sensitive issue," he noted, adding that Congress sent a clear message to the Executive Branch about the importance of considering social needs beyond fiscal balance.
Blanco recalled that a similar rejection had not been recorded since 2003. "The President frequently uses the veto tool, even on sensitive issues that directly affect people with disabilities and their families," he said. The senator insisted that these decisions should be measured by empathy for the population and not by economic or political criteria.
The legislator explained that the disabled community suffers direct consequences when fiscal balance is prioritized over social balance. "They are the ones who need support the most and who bear the consequences of decisions that don't consider their situation," he added.
Blanco also addressed the amendment to the law regulating decrees of necessity and urgency (DNU). He noted that the law seeks to bring these decrees in line with the Constitution, correcting a previous law that allowed governing through decrees with fewer requirements. According to the senator, this was an "aberration" that is now being corrected after years of discussion.
The senator emphasized that since 2020, he has been insisting on the need to regulate these instruments so that they have clear limits and reflect the transparency that citizens expect from the State.
When asked about the recent audio recordings linked to the disability agency, Blanco warned that they reveal irregularities in various state agencies, including PAMI , the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Security. He also mentioned suspicious increases in sales by state-linked laboratories and distributors. "This is worrying and affects the resources that could be allocated to disability," he said.
Blanco confirmed that he will consider supporting the request for an interpellation of the responsible secretary and that they will analyze the situation in committee before making final decisions.
