Strong criticism of indefinite reelection in the Buenos Aires Senate: "Bolt to their seats"

Strong criticism of indefinite reelection in the Buenos Aires Senate: "Bolt to their seats"

The Buenos Aires Legislature 's approval of indefinite reelection for senators drew strong criticism from across the political spectrum , both locally and nationally. The bill received 22 votes in favor and 22 against, with the tiebreaker remaining in the hands of the Speaker of the Upper House, Verónica Magario.

"If politics doesn't oxygenate itself, the people will oxygenate you by kicking you out in the elections," wrote an angry Malena Galmarini on her X account, celebrating the fact that members of Sergio Massa's Renewal Front rejected the ruling party's proposal.

In this regard, the wife of the former Minister of Economy expressed that they are "stuck to their chairs, arguing about what matters to them and every so often peeking through the keyhole to see if it's snowing outside."

Along the same lines, Pro Senator Alex Campbell emphasized the "commitment to alternation" and the rejection of "indefinite reelection."
