During the first half of 2025, 67,000 Guatemalans traveled to Colombia, representing a 30 percent increase compared to the same period last year. In turn, 39,000 Colombians visited Guatemala during the same period, reflecting a 9 percent increase. These figures consolidate Guatemala as an increasingly attractive destination for Colombian travelers, and Colombia as a hub of tourist and commercial interest for Guatemalans.
“We enthusiastically celebrate the launch of this route, which strengthens air connectivity between our countries and opens new opportunities for tourism, trade, and cultural exchange. Colombia is one of our main source markets in South America: in 2024 we will welcome more than 58,000 Colombian visitors, and in the first months of 2025 alone, we will have surpassed 25,000. This new connection will make it easier for more travelers to discover the natural, cultural, and culinary treasures that Guatemala offers the world,” said Harris Whitbeck, Director General of the Guatemalan Tourism Institute (INGUAT).
