Bosnia: Three people arrested for human trafficking, several children rescued

Bosnian police said on Wednesday (February 26) they arrested three people suspected of human trafficking and rescued a large number of children during an operation in the northeastern district of Brcko. Following the operation on Tuesday, the children were taken to a "safe place" , according to a police statement.
The suspects are accused of human trafficking and child abuse . Police did not provide details on the number of children rescued, their ages or nationalities. Contacted by AFP, Brcko district police said only that prosecutors, the social welfare agency and the Red Cross were assisting investigators.
