Jordan Bardella (RN) resigned from the Île-de-France regional council

One mandate less for Jordan Bardella . Having become a regional councillor for the Paris region in 2015, the leader of the National Rally (RN) had been combining this local mandate with that of MEP for six years. A decade after his first electoral victory, the nationalist leader resigned from his Paris region position, to which he was re-elected in 2021, in a letter sent in mid-February to the secretariat of the community chaired by Valérie Pécresse, according to information from Libération confirmed to Le Figaro.

Since 2019, Jordan Bardella had already stopped receiving his regional remuneration of 2,999.84 euros. Given his salary as a Member of the European Parliament, set at 8,419.90 euros, Marine Le Pen's young runner-up could not receive more than the ceiling of 9,857 euros, which limits the accumulation of allowances for parliamentarians.

The decision is ultimately quite logical. "He has been invisible since 2021," whispers Valérie Pécresse's entourage, repeating the usual accusations made against Jordan Bardella, who is criticized by both the left and the right for his regular absences from plenary assemblies or standing or thematic committees.
