Strasbourg (67): the prefecture supervises the pro-Gaza demonstration to keep the demonstrators away from the Jewish quarter

According to France Bleu , a demonstration organized in Strasbourg this Saturday, August 2, by the Palestine 67 collective aims to denounce “the ongoing genocide in Gaza.” The rally is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Place Broglie . The prefecture banned the initial route, considering that it risked “causing public order disturbances between the pro-Palestinian movement and members of the Jewish community,” because it was to pass through a neighborhood where this community is located. It also cited the risk of interrupting tram services , which have been banned since the accident last January. A prefectural decree defines a perimeter prohibited to demonstrators, including Avenue des Vosges, Avenue d'Alsace, Quai Mullenheim, Quai du Chanoine Winterer, Rue du Levant, Allée du Printemps, and Avenue Schutzenberger.
