Besançon. At the foot of the Citadel, the Notre-Dame tower is getting a facelift.

Restoration work on the UNESCO-listed Vauban fortifications continues. Two major projects are underway: the Saint-Esprit bastion on the banks of the Doubs and the Notre-Dame tower, at the foot of the Citadel in Tarragnoz. The passage of time had seriously damaged the old lady, whose condition was "quite worrying."
