"The Night of the Museums": a dance performance on the forecourt of the Cocteau MuseumFor this new edition of the "European Night of Museums", which will take place on Saturday , May 17, from 9 p.m., the Nice company "Antipodes", founded in 1998 by Lisie Philip, invites the people of Menton to a dance, music and video performance, specially designed for the forecourt of the Jean Cocteau Museum (Francis-Palmero esplanade side).
The work of the choreographer – who has danced at the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, the Grand Théâtre de Genève and the Opernhaus de Zurich – is focused on choreographic and dramaturgical writing for and in public and atypical spaces, as well as on a search for different relationships with the spectator tending towards intimacy and sharing.
Her creations reach a wide audience, not just those initiated into dance, with dreamlike, offbeat worlds that are both poetic and sometimes scathing. It is a global reflection on the place of the artist and the dancing body in society.
The company is regularly invited to perform original works in public spaces throughout Europe and in museums. Performances will take place every twenty minutes on the forecourt: from 9:15 p.m. to 9:35 p.m., 9:55 p.m. to 10:15 p.m., 10:35 p.m. to 10:55 p.m., and 11:15 p.m. to 11:35 p.m.
