It's out in theaters Wednesday: With "Coka Chicas," Roxine Helberg relies on sisterhood to dust off the French thriller

But the trip is disrupted when, after being arrested at the airport, Jessica disappears completely off the radar. Unable to abandon their friend, Sarah and Chanel set out to search for her in the island's underworld, unaware that what they are about to discover is far beyond anything they could have imagined.
A trip to hellUnder the Caribbean sun, Roxine Helberg films a trip to hell and focuses – something rare in a French -made action film – on highlighting sisterhood, with three dynamic young women embarking on a story as dangerous… as it is preposterous! Scrupulously respecting the codes of the genre, she punctuates the whole thing with fight scenes to keep fans on the edge of their seats. Yes, because the whole thing doesn't mince words and, with the exception of the setting and that welcome "feminist" touch, this story of trafficking and friendship has a familiar feel and struggles to stand out from the competition.
The humid climate combined with the threatening atmosphere, with a vice that constantly closes in on the protagonists, is a reflection of the nervous, rather well-managed staging. The presence in the title role of Zoé Marchal, daughter of Olivier Marchal, firmly determined to make a name for herself, is another curiosity. The actress exudes a real presence in the skin of this determined and energetic woman. She is without a doubt one of the main assets of this B series, however, more tailored for SVOD platforms than for the big screen.
