Who are the 20 semi-finalists for the new edition of the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives?
Organized in collaboration with La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives aims to celebrate and support the new generation of independent watchmakers around the world. After the first edition saw the victory of Swiss watchmaker Raúl Pagès, Louis Vuitton has just unveiled the 20 semi-finalists for the second edition, selected from several hundred candidates from around the world. This fall, the committee of 65 experts will meet to evaluate the applications according to five criteria: design, creativity and audacity, details and finishes, complexity and technical innovation. The members of the Committee will also vote among themselves to select the five members of the final jury. The five finalists, as well as the names of the five members of the final jury, will be revealed on December 15, 2025. “An important facet of watchmaking lies in the rise of independent creators, who transform a singular vision into a mechanical art,” explains Jean Arnault, Director of Watchmaking at Louis Vuitton. This new generation of watchmakers is remarkable not only for its talent and wealth, but above all because it dares to create truly creative precision instruments that are also works of art. The bold creations of the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize semi-finalists are a testament to this spirit. In their hands, watchmaking becomes an expression of pure creativity, each timepiece a testament to exceptional craftsmanship.

On March 24, 2026, the finalists will travel to Paris to present their creations to the members of the final jury. Following these auditions, the jury will select the winner of this second edition. The winner of the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives will be announced that same evening during a ceremony at the Fondation Louis Vuitton. They will receive €150,000 in financial support and one year of mentoring tailored to the needs of their creative project, provided by experts from La Fabrique du Temps and Louis Vuitton.
