Lyon. Nights warmed by the poetry of Laurent Voulzy

Lyon. Nights warmed by the poetry of Laurent Voulzy

After a long concert tour in cathedrals and churches, followed by a break from writing, Laurent Voulzy returns to the stage. Three thousand people awaited him on Tuesday, July 8, at the Nuits de Fourvière, one of his first dates.

An intimate moment—that's what the 3,000 spectators at the Nuits de Fourvière came looking for on Tuesday, July 8, with Laurent Voulzy. They got it. The 76-year-old singer offered them tons of flashbacks. And a welcome warmth.

"It's a long time coming," whispers a fan upon hearing Bubble Star , released in 1978, with which Voulzy slipped onto the stage of the ancient theater. Fifty years of career and hundreds of concerts later, he has managed to maintain this astonishing simplicity that characterizes him, precisely not ending up as a "Bubble Star." He has given further proof of this.

The audience sings the next song with him: Le Rêve du pêcheur . Dreams, memories, sweetness, the evening is filled with them. Quatre nuages, Je suis venu pour elle, The captain of her heart … He knows how to give all their space to the musicians, the violin, piano, guitars, cello, maracasses, flutes, harp… Invite the audience to play the chorus again, without asking. Coming out La fille d'avril, Le cœur grenadine or even Jeanne. “I realize to what extent you are a part of my life and to what extent I am a part of yours,” he confides, happy to be back on stage.

After a concert tour in cathedrals and churches in France, Belgium and Switzerland, which began in 2018, followed by a break from writing and composing, he missed being close to the public, he explained, announcing his big comeback for 2025.

The journey has just begun. It promises to be as poetic and magical as the previous ones. It will pass through the bird park of Villars-les-Dombes on September 1st ; the musical harvest of Charnay-en-Beaujolais on September 18th; and the Radiant on March 10th and 11th, 2026.
