Rapper Niro bares all

For ten years, Niro was "your favorite rapper's favorite rapper," guesting on records by Booba, the young PLK, and the highly committed Kery James. This punchline, which the international rap scene has often associated with American rappers Kid Cudi and MF Doom, fits like a glove with this 38-year-old Franco-Moroccan artist, rarely in the spotlight, raised in a ZUP (priority urban zone) in Blois, who has been inducted, thanks to his uncompromising writing, into the rank of French rap legend.
Today, he's become a favorite rapper among young TikTokers, who are making his incisive verses go viral. Real name Nourredine Bahri, the discreet MC has seen excerpts from his tracks released on CD in the 2010s ( Sors de ma tête, Pourquoi tu m'aimes or Jamais ) become the new trends on TikTok.
Niro, now a father of two, laughs about it: "Young people don't listen to music like we do anymore. I could listen to a CD until it stopped working. They take thirty seconds of a song and play it over and over again. I understand them, they don't want to waste their time, and for us artists, it's good; they give our music a second life."
