From January to March 2026, scaffolding will be erected in front of Michelangelo's Last Judgment fresco to allow for inspection and exceptional cleaning, the new director of the Vatican's restoration laboratory announced. The restoration of Raphael's Loggia will also be undertaken over a five-year period.
