The ephemeris of July 10: 1871, the year of birth of the writer Marcel Proust

On July 10, 1871, one of the greatest French writers of the 20th century, Marcel Proust , was born in Paris. Born into a wealthy family, he had a rather difficult childhood, marked by breathing difficulties caused by his asthma. During his youth, he regularly frequented aristocratic salons, where he met many writers, who would later inspire him.

It was in 1907 that he began writing his most famous work, "In Search of Lost Time." Published between 1913 and 1927, this seven-volume reflection addresses topics such as literature, memory, and time. Among these volumes, "In the Shadow of Young Girls in Flower," a novel exploring the writer's loves during his adolescence, was awarded the Prix Goncourt (French literary prize) in 1919.

On November 18, 1922, Marcel Proust died of bronchitis in his Paris apartment. He was later buried in Père-Lachaise Cemetery. Today, his work is widely acclaimed and continues to inspire.
