United Kingdom: Small Brighton bookstore becomes Nick Cave's treasure trove

A Brighton charity bookstore became the center of attention this weekend, displaying 2,000 books belonging to Australian singer Nick Cave. His fans were able to buy them at low prices and were treated to a few surprises tucked away among their idol's works.
Old postcards, a boarding pass, books with illegible notes in the margins... These are all little treasures that you might find in a second-hand bookstore, and which could become the find of a lifetime if they belonged to your greatest idol. This is what happened this weekend to fans of singer Nick Cave, of the band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, reports The Times .
From this Friday, July 18, fans of the Australian musician invaded an Oxfam charity bookstore in Brighton's Hove district, hoping to acquire the artist's books, who donated 2,000 books directly from his personal library to the bookseller.
Those passing by in the surrounding streets could see a long queue and, inside the shop, a small crowd busy leafing through the pages of his books. From time to time, a few lucky people came across snippets of memorabilia from his life “made up of world travel and concerts,” the newspaper continues: a map of the United States showing the dates of a 2007 tour, an empty pack of Camel cigarettes, but also an envelope with the inscription “Luke’s teeth,” which once contained the teeth of the artist’s son.
