War in Ukraine: Russia launched 85 drones and one missile overnight

The Ukrainian Air Force, in a statement on Telegram, claimed to have shot down 61 of these drones, including Iranian-designed Shahed drones and decoy drones. According to this source, the regions of Sumy (northeast), Donetsk (east), Chernihiv (north) and Dnipropetrovsk (central-east) were attacked.
Russian drone and missile strikes hit Ukraine almost every night, regularly causing deaths and injuries. Kyiv is asking its allies to provide it with more air defense systems to repel these constant attacks.
The strikes in Ukraine on Friday night came as the highly anticipated meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump was taking place in Alaska, but the meeting did not result in a ceasefire as kyiv and its European allies had hoped.
