But where is the station? The 8:16 Paris-Montargis train has barely left Bois-le-Roi , the stop south of Melun, in Seine-et-Marne , when it stops again. But this time in the middle of the woods... In the middle of nowhere. No buildings, not even a road visible near the railway line. The train doors open, however, and passengers get off, looking in astonishment at the "100% natural" surroundings. You might think it's a stop in the open countryside due to a rolling stock breakdown. It's not.
The stop is clearly part of the mission of this Gomo train (line R) which left forty-three minutes earlier from the Gare de Lyon in Paris. Welcome to the Fontainebleau-Forêt stop, without a doubt the most unusual and "confidential" stop on the entire Transilien SNCF network in Île-de-France. It does not appear on any line map, does not appear in any transport application and is not even mentioned in the list of stations on line R which is displayed on the large signposts departing from Paris.
