Air: thanks to the metro, Orly airport is the new El Dorado for airlines

The arrival of Route 14 has made the site very attractive. Carriers are using it to attract customers but remain constrained by flight restrictions.

There was a time when taking off from Orly Airport, south of Paris, was rather bad news. From the capital, you had to take a taxi or take the RER B before entering the very expensive Orlyval. Those days are over since the extension of Line 14 came into service last June, just before the Paris Olympics .

Now, it's just a twenty-five-minute metro ride from central Paris. "The site is becoming incredibly attractive. This changes everything for travelers, obviously, but also for airlines, which are finding it easier to attract customers," emphasizes Bertrand Vilmer, an aviation expert.
