Discover the 9 new emojis that will appear in 2026
Paperclip, treasure chest, ballerina, or even orca... the fall collection of emojis was unveiled by Unicode on Wednesday for "International Emoji Day."
Every year, the emoji family grows. Used in everyday life to convey our emotions and feelings through messages, emojis are actually scrutinized and selected before appearing on our keyboards. Nine new designs will be added in 2026 on iOS, Android, and Windows . The Unicode Association announced the release of this new collection on Wednesday, July 16.
This fall/winter emoji collection includes a paperclip, a chest full of coins, an apple core, a comic book-style fight, a ballerina, a bulging-eyed emoji, an orca, a landslide, and a yeti. The designs will be adapted and recreated differently by Apple , Samsung, and Google. They can also be found on platforms like X and Discord.

That said, emoji selection can sometimes be rooted in political dynamics. As Unicode explains, " these new emojis have long-standing symbolic meanings, are visually distinctive, and contain a multitude of expressions." It's up to everyone to interpret the choices made for this fall collection. Expected in the coming months, these emojis will first have to be definitively adopted in September of this year before appearing on new versions of iOS or Android by early 2026.
