Electric cars for less than 200 euros per month: social leasing returns from September 30

We knew since the beginning of the year that the program would return in the second half of the year, and now we have a date. Orders for social leasing, which will allow working-class people and a portion of the middle class to rent an electric car for around €200 per month, will resume on September 30. "We're proud to have launched the first edition, and to continue this commitment for a second," said Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister for Ecological Transition.

As in the first edition, at the beginning of 2024, "at least 50,000 private cars" will be financed by this scheme, thanks to an envelope of 370 million euros, now financed by energy saving certificates . Among these, the government specifies that at least 5,000 contracts will be reserved for "people whose home or workplace is located in a municipality where air quality must be particularly improved, that is to say in a low-emission zone."
