The "mobility plan" in Île-de-France, which must meet the needs of the inhabitants of the Île-de-France region in terms of travel by 2030 and place the Region on the path to a low-carbon trajectory, will be the subject of a consultation from February 28 to March 31, with a public meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 13 at the Region's headquarters in Saint-Ouen (Seine-Saint-Denis).
Adopted by the Region on March 27, 2024, this plan aims to reduce car travel by 15%, increase public transport travel by 15% and triple the number of bicycle trips made by residents of the Paris region. "The objective is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 26% by 2030," the Region and Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM), the public transport authority, stated in a joint press release. As part of this survey supervised by an investigating commissioner, residents will be able to express their views on a dedicated online platform, in writing at one of the 33 permanent locations as well as at the Region's headquarters, or by email, post, and at the meeting on March 13.
"The plan defines 14 axes and 46 actions covering all modes of travel for residents of the Paris region as well as the transport of goods" , which can be consulted on the website of the Region as well as on that of Île-de-France Mobilités, specifies the press release. The commission of inquiry will submit its report at the end of April, which will report on the contributions made and will formulate possible recommendations for modifications. The plan may then be modified, then will be sent to the State for advice during the summer, before an adoption planned for September 2025 by the regional council.
