Portugal welcomed 29 million foreign tourists last year, a new record that represents a 9.3% increase compared to 2023, with Spain, the United Kingdom, and France remaining the main countries of origin, the National Statistics Institute announced Wednesday.

Visitors from the United States experienced the strongest increase (+16.9%), making them the fifth largest source country for tourists visiting the Iberian country last year, behind Germany.
