SNCF strike: traffic will be “severely disrupted” on certain lines in the Ile-de-France region on Monday

SNCF traffic in the Ile-de-France region will be "severely disrupted" on Monday on the RER B and C lines as well as on three Transiliens, but normal on most other lines, according to the traffic plan unveiled this Sunday, May 4, on the eve of a week of calls for strikes .

The public company expects normal traffic on the RER A, the busiest line, but "one train out of two on the northern section" of the RER B "and two trains out of three on the southern section." The same frequency of one train out of two is expected on the RER C and on Transilien lines N, U and V.

On the RER E, traffic will be "slightly disrupted" , with the SNCF saying "4 out of 5 trains are expected". Finally, traffic will be "disrupted" on line H, with some cancellations expected "except between Pontoise and Creil" .

Monday is the first day of a week marked by several calls for strikes by Sud-Rail and the CGT-Cheminots union over issues of pay and work organization , culminating in a strike by controllers expected to follow in the middle of the May 8th long weekend.

At the national level, SNCF Voyageurs has not yet released a forecast for Monday, but according to several union and group sources, disruptions should be limited that day.

"We are far from a black week, there will be no week of standstill, but a week as normal as possible," SNCF Voyageurs CEO Christophe Fanichet assured AFP on Sunday morning during an interview. "TGV services will be normal from Monday, May 5 to Thursday, May 8," he said, and for May 9, 10 and 11, most trains will run.
