Trump to tax Putin's allies '100%... within 50 days'

"I'm disappointed in President Putin because I thought we would have an agreement two months ago, but it doesn't seem to be happening," the US president said at the White House.
Donald Trump threatened on Monday to impose "very severe tariffs" against Russia's allies if there is no agreement on the war in Ukraine "within 50 days."
"I'm disappointed in President Putin because I thought we would have an agreement two months ago, but it doesn't seem to be happening," the US president said at the White House, alongside NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, adding that "as a result, we will be implementing secondary tariffs," that is, on Moscow's allies. "If we don't have an agreement within 50 days, it's very simple, (the tariffs) will be 100% and that's it," he added.
"Fifty days is a very long time when you consider that they are also killing innocent civilians every day."
The 50-day deadline given to Russia by President Donald Trump before possible sanctions is a "very long" period when "innocent civilians are dying every day," European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said on Monday.
"It's very positive, President Trump is taking a tough stance on Russia. On the other hand, 50 days is a very long time when you consider that they are also killing innocent civilians every day," the Estonian official told reporters.
