Vesoul: The municipalities of Haute-Saône are preparing for the 3.0 era.

With fiber and broadband being deployed throughout the department, the Haute-Saône Numérique joint syndicate is now working to make the regions "smart and connected." It is currently meeting with elected officials from the 18 communities of communes to offer them technical tools that will enable the implementation of simple action plans and generate savings.

Its role could have stopped at fiber. In 2024, Haute-Saône Numérique (HSN), a joint union created in 2014 to deploy it throughout the department, changed its statutes "to look at the uses" of digital technology in communities, explains its new president Laurent Bailly, successor to Yves Krattinger in the fall of 2024. A "logical and clear path" to bring Haute-Saône into the 3.0 era. Compared to similarly rural departments, it is already ahead in fiber and broadband.

As with individuals, digital tools have become essential for communities.
