Bron: a former assistant to Jérémie Bréaud candidate in the 2026 municipal elections

François-Xavier Pénicaud (MoDem) has announced his candidacy for the 2026 municipal elections. He is the first declared candidate in Bron.
François-Xavier Pénicaud, president of the En Avant Brondillant association, announced on Wednesday, July 9, that he was running for a "various center" list for the 2026 municipal elections in Bron, in eastern Lyon, our colleagues at Le Progrès learned during a press conference.
President of the MoDem federation in the Rhône and the Lyon metropolitan area, he had already run in the 2020 municipal elections. Third in the first round, his group ultimately joined current LR mayor Jérémie Bréaud in the second round.

The latter had also given him, within his executive, the role of deputy delegate for integration, employment, education and universities. Before being ousted - like four other deputies from the centrist group - by the mayor in early 2023 for having distributed a leaflet (very) disliked by the elected official.
The energy renovation of buildings and the transformation of the Parilly district were presented as the two priorities of their program. The group does not rule out possible alliances with right-wing or left-wing forces, but wishes to represent an " alternative ."
