Christiane Cointy and Lucas Boghossian appointed leaders of the PCF for the municipal elections in Vaulx-en-Velin

The Communist Party (PCF) has designated Christiane Cointy and Lucas Boghossian as its two leaders for the 2026 municipal elections in Vaulx-en-Velin.
The Communist Party (PCF) has officially entered the race for the municipal elections in Vaulx-en-Velin. In a press release, the PCF announced that it has chosen Christiane Cointy and Lucas Boghossian as its two leaders for 2026.
Christiane Cointy presents herself as "committed to the fight for the right to holidays, quality food and solidarity" , while Lucas Boghossian is a "lifelong Vaud resident, invested in the education of our children, cooperation and peace in Palestine, as well as the right to public tranquility."
In its press release, the PCF also expressed its outspoken opposition to the current majority led by Socialist mayor Hélène Geoffroy. "After eleven years of disastrous management and scandals, the time has come to put an end to this dark period and build a popular alternative with the people of Vaud," it said. It added: "The Communists, as always, will work with all those who share their objectives" in order to "open the way to building a peaceful future in our city."
