Emmanuel Macron and François Bayrou's popularity at rock bottom, according to a poll

Only 19% of French people are satisfied with President Emmanuel Macron, who has fallen four points in a month, and 18% with his Prime Minister François Bayrou (-2 points), who presented a plan on Tuesday providing for 44 billion euros of savings for the 2026 budget.
About 50% of respondents are very dissatisfied with the head of government (+8 points) and 32% rather dissatisfied (-6 points), while 17% are satisfied (-2 points) and 1% very satisfied (unchanged).
Discontent with François Bayrou has particularly increased among business leaders (+16 points) and the Socialists (+11 points), who had tabled a motion of censure after the failure of consultations between social partners on pensions.
The distribution is similar for the head of state: 48% of French people are very dissatisfied (+3 points), 33% rather dissatisfied (+1 point), while 17% are rather satisfied (-3 points) and 2% very satisfied (-1 point).
Dissatisfaction with Emmanuel Macron has particularly increased among craftsmen and shopkeepers (+10 points), business leaders (+18 points), in rural communities (+13 points) and among socialists (+21 points).
Online survey conducted from July 16 to 17, using the quota method, among a sample of 1,000 people representative of the population aged 18 and over. Margin of error between 1.1 and 2.2 points.
