Fête de l'Humanité 2025: the complete program of Agora debates

Climate, feminism, anti-fascism, Palestine, science, democracy... The struggles that mark our time will be at the heart of the debates at the Agora de l'Humanité.
Urbi et orbi: The Agora of Humanity aims to address all levels of resistance, from the city to the world. It will all begin on Friday, September 12, with a debate on the 2026 municipal elections: several mayors will demonstrate to the festival's audience "How the Left is Changing the City."
A significant amount of space will then be devoted to the future of our planet with a discussion on "The fight of the century, the fight for the climate." Paul Watson , who was once imprisoned in Greenland for his commitment to cetaceans and founder of the NGO Sea Shepherd, will be a key witness. Another important guest is Christian Tein, president of the Socialist Kanak Liberation Front, who is imprisoned in France for his fight against colonialism.
On international issues, the situation in the Middle East will obviously be at the heart of the discussions. The speakers will be Palestinian Ambassador Hala Abu Hassira , suspended Israeli Communist Knesset member Ofer Cassif , and Haaretz journalist Gideon Levy . Solidarity with the people of Iran will be the order of the day during the debate "Women, Life, Freedom: Iranian Women at the Heart of War."
There will be no shortage of national issues. The impact of the Gisèle Pelicot trial will be explored, in the presence of her daughter Caroline Darian , and the question of school schedules with the general secretary of Snes-FSU, Sophie Vénétitay . Partygoers most nostalgic for school benches will be able to participate in Rachid Santaki's giant dictation on Sunday morning...
Because the Agora isn't just about debate. It's also a popular cultural and scientific forum. Guillaume Meurice will be recording his political and humorous show, La Dernière , live. Historian Patrick Boucheron will give a lecture on the theme of "Sciences-Antisciences." Fabien Roussel will be interviewed by journalists with autism spectrum disorder from the France 2 Papotin team.
Anti-fascism will permeate the debates: whether we ask the question "Is France a racist country?", whether we examine "Trumped America," whether we decipher the links between the far right, the rich, and employers, or whether historian Johann Chapoutot shares his thoughts on the theme "When democracy yields to fascism."
Faced with this danger and the government's missteps, the main left-wing leaders will contribute their share to the fight on Saturday, proclaiming their rejection of the Bayrou budget. The trade unionists will offer their ideas on Sunday on how to "regain power over multinationals." From the local to the global.
