At the end of 2023, the number of registered private pools in Lorraine was estimated at around 16,000 . This is only the tip of the iceberg; mini-pools, i.e. pools of 10m2 and less, are not registered and sales are booming. The first selling point put forward by professionals: these mini-pools can be installed without complex administrative formalities.

No declaration of work

The urban planning code is indeed crystal clear: Article R 421-2 stipulates that swimming pools are exempt from any formalities when "the pool has a surface area less than or equal to ten square meters."
