Moselle. Sarreguemines: Municipal police will be armed by the end of the year

In the coming months, the equipment of Sarreguemines' six municipal police officers will be expanded, ahead of the expected arrival of a seventh. By the end of the year, they will be equipped with a handgun. "Initially, we weren't very convinced about equipping our officers with lethal weapons. But the context has changed. Especially since Covid, society has hardened. The weapon has a primarily deterrent effect; the adaptation was necessary," explains Marc Zingraff , mayor.
