A "poison law" for its detractors, a text aimed at "removing constraints on practicing the farming profession" for its proponents... Thanks to a citizens' petition registered on the National Assembly website, Senator Laurent Duplomb's (LR) bill on agriculture is once again sparking lively debate. With, on one side, the government coalition, supported by the far right and the main agricultural union, the FNSEA; and on the other, the left, environmental protection associations, numerous scientists, and a growing segment of civil society.
